"Allah" adalah, pertama-tama, sebuah nama. Sebelum sebagai seseorang atau Ada, nama "Allah" dapat menjadi sesuatu yang terbayangkan. "Apa yang terdapat di dalam sebuah nama?" "Siapakah nama yang kita kasihi dan bagaimana akhirnya kita dapat mengenali nama tersebut?" Itulah pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang tulisan ini coba untuk jawab. Studi ini berangkat dari buku Confessions (Pengakuan-pengakuan) karangan Agustinus bagian ke-10, dan akan dibagi menjadi dua bagian lebih kecil. Di bagian pertama, saya akan mengajukan kemungkinan dari mengaplikasikan sebuah pendekatan mistik untuk menjawab isu tersebut. Selanjutnya, saya akan memeriksa bagaimana seorang kudus berjalan seturut memorinya dalam mencari Allah, sebagai sebuah contoh perjalanan mistik menuju cinta.
