Abstrak

Apakah Roma 10 hanyalah diskusi sampingan mengenai pentingnya penginjilan dan misi di dalam “doktrin predestinasi” Paulus? Di artikel ini, sebuah chiasmus diidentifikasikan dan dipergunakan sebagai kerangka untuk menganalisa Roma 10 lebih lanjut. Di sini akan ditunjukkan bahwa chiasmus tersebut mempertajam ironi epistemologi akan respon Israel terhadap injil. Meskipun injil mulia tersebut telah diberitakan di dalam kitab suci orang Ibrani, mayoritas dari bangsa Yahudi yang hidup di dalam era Paulus mengabaikannya karena mereka tidak menangkap kunci hermeneutika untuk mengerti hukum Musa, yakni, “Kristus adalah tujuan dari hukum untuk kebenaran kepada setiap orang yang percaya.” Lebih dari hanyalah sampingan di dalam pengulasan doktrinal Paulus, Roma 10 adalah puncak ironi Israel sebagai bangsa istimewa yang gagal di dalam pendengaran dan pengertian mereka.

Eko Nugroho Onggosanusi, Redeemer Seminary Dallas

Eko Onggosanusi (Eko Ong) adalah mahasiswa Master of Divinity di Redeemer Seminary Dallas (akan lulus Mei 2015). Minat riset utamanya yang juga keinginan untuk melanjutkan studi adalah di bidang studi biblika, terutama Perjanjian Baru. Saat ini ia melayani sebuah Indonesian fellowship di Dallas dan melayani di komunitas Anglikan. Ia juga memiliki gelar doktor dalam bidang Electrical Engineering dari University of Wisconsin-Madison (diberikan pada bulan Desember 2000) dan saat ini adalah seorang direktur di Samsung Research America-Dallas.
