Abstrak

Artikel ini membahas kutipan Paulus terhadap Imamat 18:5 di Galatia dan Roma. Bermula dari tradisi penafsiran Imamat 18:5, intertekstualitas antara kutipan tersebut dan teks-teks disekitarnya akan ditelusuri bersama dengan gema Imamat 18:5 di dalam surat-surat tersebut. Artikel ini akan menunjukan bahwa Paulus menafsirkan Imamat 18:8 di surat Galatia dalam hubungannya dengan ganjaran kehidupan. Dalam surat Roma, di pihak lain, Paulus menafsirkan Imamat 18:5 sebagai hukum yang tertulis pada hati mereka yang ada dalam Kristus – oleh karena itu, memenuhi fungsi kovenantalnya. Daripada menganggapnya sebagai inkonsistensi, aplikasi-aplikasi Paulus yang beragam  terhadap Imamat 18:5 sebenarnya konsisten dengan keutuhan pemahamannya mengenai hukum.

Eko Nugroho Onggosanusi, University of Aberdeen

Eko Onggosanusi (Eko Ong) mendapat gelar Master of Divinity dari Redeemer Seminary, Dallas, pada bulan Mei 2015. Minat riset utama dan keinginan studi selanjutnya adalah pada bidang studi biblika, khsusunya Perjanjian Baru. Ia juga memiliki gelar doktor dalam bidang Electrical Engineering dari University of Wisconsin-Madison (lulus bukan Desember 2000) dan saat ini merupakan seorang direktur di Samsung Research America-Dallas. Ia juga merupakan mahasiswa doktoral paruh waktu bidang Perjanjian Baru di University of Aberdeen.
